The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics
The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.
During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.
“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.
“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”
In response to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.
“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.
“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and the outcome would be catastrophic for students and learning.”
The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.
However, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”
Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.
Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”
The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.
The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.
Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.
National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.
During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”
The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
