Salah Offers Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match following making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “It's clear there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the period after the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
