Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
An aircraft transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels at the time.
This occurrence is not the first time that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to return to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
