Barça Set to Play Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed they will play at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
