Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
