Series of Targeted Attacks

Since the onset of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military commanders have been subjected to assaults within Moscow.

This new event echoes other serious incidents, for instance:

  • General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a vehicle explosion in Moscow earlier this year.
  • General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a device placed on a scooter was triggered from afar.

While a source from Ukraine in the past linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are not formally acknowledged as a matter of standard practice.

The conflict has increasingly seen covert operations extending into the center of the Russian capital.

The investigation into General Sarvarov's death is still ongoing.
